RACI Matrix

A RACI matrix spreadsheet: list the tasks, mark each person R, A, C or I, and the Check column flags any task with no Responsible, no Accountable or too many Accountable. The files open in Microsoft Excel and in Google Sheets, have no macros and nothing to install, and are yours to reuse as often as you like.

What it does

  • Pick R, A, C or I (or A/R) from a dropdown in each cell; R count and A count fill in for every task
  • The Check column shows OK, Missing R, Missing A, Too many A, Not assigned or Add task
  • The default rule is exactly one Accountable and at least one Responsible per task; change both on Setup
  • Summary: tasks on the matrix, tasks ready, tasks to fix and people in use, plus the first 15 tasks to fix
  • By Person: how many tasks each person does, owns, is asked on and is told about, and their share of all tasks
  • Prints landscape for kickoff, with the task names and people's names repeated on every page
  • 300 task rows and 30 people or roles
